Key Opera
Add adjustable mechanical keyboard sounds to your Mac
Meet Key Opera
Key Opera adds typing sounds to a Mac, giving ordinary keyboards audio feedback inspired by mechanical switches. It runs from the menu bar, where users can toggle sounds and adjust their volume without opening a separate preferences window. Sound packs include recordings of different switches as well as synthetic effects.
Users can import custom packs by opening a file in Finder, and a companion command-line tool can change effects or volume as part of a workflow. The app also offers spoken key announcements with adjustable speed and VoiceOver support. It suits people who enjoy typing feedback or want audible confirmation of the keys they press.
