Meet Krita

Krita is an open-source painting application for sketches, illustration, concept art, and animation. Different brush types support different drawing styles, while layers provide control over how a picture develops. Drawing assistants and stabilizers help with strokes that need closer control.

Animation tools let artists develop moving work in the same application. Community brushes, patterns, and other assets extend the available setup, and artists can exchange work and advice through the Krita community. You can prepare a workspace around a preferred painting method and return to it for later projects. Its source is available under the GNU General Public License.
