Redis
In-memory data store for caching, messaging, and fast application data
Distributed memory cache for faster applications and lower database load

Memcached is an open-source caching system that helps applications respond faster by keeping frequently requested data in memory. It stores values under keys, so developers can reuse database query results, API responses, or rendered page fragments instead of repeating expensive work. Client libraries connect application code to one or more Memcached servers, allowing cache capacity to grow across machines.
Applications choose what to cache, how long entries should remain valid, and when to update or remove them. Expiration and memory-based eviction make room for fresh data, so the application must be able to retrieve or rebuild a missing value. Memcached is useful for busy websites and services that need a shared cache alongside their existing database. Its simple commands also support operations such as counters and conditional updates.
