Meet MovieLens

MovieLens recommends films from the ratings a person supplies. Rating earlier viewing builds a taste profile, which the service uses to suggest other titles. Movie pages add images, trailers, and descriptive information, giving a recommendation context before someone decides what to watch.

Community tags and search tools provide other routes through the catalog. Users can add tags of their own or tune similarity matching toward qualities they want more or less of. The service is noncommercial and ad-free. A viewer can start with a few familiar films, inspect the suggested alternatives, and revise the profile as more viewing is recorded.
