OpenScience is a research workspace that combines literature lookup, programming, experiments, and results with an AI agent. Researchers can work with project files, ask the agent to read papers or write analysis code, and inspect the generated outputs in the same environment. Tools connect to scientific databases across fields such as biology and chemistry.

The system can manage software environments and compute on a laptop, cluster, or GPU resources. Multiple agent sessions can work within a project, and bundled skills support common research and writing tasks. OpenScience is open source and supports included models or connections to other model providers, giving users a choice of how to run their research assistant.
