Outline is a team wiki for keeping reference material and documentation together. People can edit a document collaboratively, add embeds, and discuss changes in threaded comments. Search and AI question answering work across the workspace, with a Slack integration bringing document questions and updates into chat.

Collection permissions govern reading and editing, while guests and public links provide routes for selected material to reach a wider audience. Teams can use the hosted service or run it themselves. Custom domains and branding support published documentation, so an internal guide and a shared reference page can use different access arrangements within the same knowledge workspace.
