Keep selected windows private during screen sharing
Cover sensitive screen content with a keyboard shortcut

PanicMode is a desktop privacy app that covers sensitive content when someone approaches or a screen needs to be shared. Users choose a neutral overlay and trigger it with a keyboard shortcut, temporarily keeping apps, chats, and files out of view. The same shortcut returns them to their normal desktop when they are ready.
The app is designed for everyday situations such as working in a café, an open office, or a coworking space. It runs locally and does not need to record or upload the screen to provide its cover. Versions for macOS and Windows give users a quick way to reduce accidental visual exposure without rearranging every open window.
