Qtum

A proof-of-stake blockchain combining UTXO transactions and smart contracts

Meet Qtum

Qtum is an open-source public blockchain that combines Bitcoin's UTXO transaction model with Ethereum-compatible smart contracts. It uses proof-of-stake consensus and an Account Abstraction Layer that connects its transaction architecture to the Ethereum Virtual Machine. Developers can write contracts in Solidity and build applications that issue tokens, manage onchain logic, or interact with blockchain data.

Qtum Core provides node software, wallet functions, and a JSON-RPC interface. Developers can experiment on a local regtest network or the public testnet before deploying, using resources such as Qtum.js and contract development tools. The platform also includes a decentralized governance protocol for adjusting selected network parameters through smart contracts.
