Meet Thoughts

Thoughts is a Mac menu bar app for saving ideas without opening a large workspace. A shortcut or menu bar click reveals a popover where users can write a note, add an image, record their voice, or capture a short video. Notes can include headings, lists, and tasks, with important items pinned for quick access.

Search helps retrieve saved text, links, screenshots, and image names. Optional AI features turn recordings or images into text and provide summaries, translations, corrections, or rewrites. The app is free, but these features require the user's own supported AI provider key, with provider usage handled separately. Export and sharing controls let users take notes or recordings into other applications.
