Play video and audio across desktop platforms
Meet VLC
VLC is an open-source media player for files and other audio or video sources. You can open a local recording, play supported discs, or view a network stream through the same application. Many codecs are included, letting the player handle different formats without a separate codec package for each one. Desktop and mobile versions make it available on several operating systems. Supported desktop editions can use extensions and skins for additional functions or appearance changes. For someone with a mixed media collection, VLC provides a common player for the files and sources they want to watch or listen to.
