Speak to GitHub Copilot sessions and hear replies aloud

Meet Vox

Vox adds voice interaction to GitHub Copilot sessions. Running its command opens a dedicated panel where users speak a request, watch the listening and processing state, and hear the assistant's response aloud. It can also read replies to messages typed in the command line, keeping spoken and written interaction in the same session.

A transcript panel provides conversation history, while interruption controls let users stop speech and resume talking. Multiple sessions can remain available through a selector. The MIT-licensed extension runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux with Node.js, Git, and a compatible Chromium browser for Web Speech features. It provides the voice interface around Copilot, so model access and speech behavior depend on those connected components.
