Walrus

Decentralized storage and verifiable data for apps and AI

Website

Meet Walrus

Walrus is a decentralized storage and data platform for developers building applications that need persistent, verifiable information. It stores files as blobs across a distributed network, with storage records and content-derived identifiers recorded on Sui. Applications can use those identifiers to check that retrieved data matches what was originally stored, while storage proofs help verify availability.

Developers can upload and retrieve data using the Walrus command-line client or TypeScript SDK. Production HTTP integrations use a private authenticated publisher or an upload relay. Teams choose how long to store their data and can extend that period as their needs change. Walrus supports use cases such as media hosting, application records, AI datasets, and agent memory, giving applications a shared data layer beyond a single storage provider.
