Organize terminal work with panes, tabs, and persistent sessions

Zellij is a free, open-source terminal workspace that organizes shells, editors, and running commands into panes, tabs, and named sessions. Developers can keep a code editor beside logs and tests, switch between projects, and detach from a session while its processes continue running. Visible keyboard hints help users navigate, while tiled, floating, and stacked panes adapt the workspace to different tasks. Layout files can recreate a project setup with predefined commands and tools. Session restoration brings back saved workspace structure, and WebAssembly plugins extend the interface. Zellij also supports collaborative sessions and browser access through its optional built-in web server, making it useful for pair programming and remote terminal work.
