Meet Caret

Caret is a writing assistant that brings tab-to-complete suggestions across applications on a Mac. It uses the current screen and remembered context to suggest what the user may want to write next, with the aim of keeping the text relevant to the task already in progress. Pressing Tab accepts a completion within the working application.

The workflow is built around continuing a sentence or message rather than opening a separate chat for each request. Context can include information visible in another application, helping the assistant connect what the user is doing with what they are writing. Caret is available for macOS 26 and later and depends on access to screen context for its central features.
