Rust components for building native desktop interfaces
Build desktop apps with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS

Electron lets developers use web technologies to build desktop applications for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It ships Chromium with the application, so the interface has a known rendering engine on each platform. A separate main process runs Node.js and handles desktop tasks such as creating windows, building menus, and opening native dialogs.
For a text editor, the writing surface could run in a browser window while a menu command opens a file picker and passes the chosen document back to the interface. Developers can keep their existing JavaScript libraries and use Electron Forge to package the finished application into installers for distribution.
