Featherweight Dictation is a desktop dictation app that inserts spoken words into the text field you are using. Hold its keyboard shortcut, speak, and release the key to receive the resulting text in an email, document, chat, or other application. The app is designed around a small native process that waits in the background.

A Smart mode on Mac can also turn a spoken request into new writing or revise selected text, such as shortening a message or changing its tone. Standard dictation is available for both Mac and Windows. The service focuses on reducing the steps between thinking of a message and entering it in the application where it belongs.
