Fide Island

Keep media, notes, and quick tools around your MacBook notch

Meet Fide Island

Fide Island turns the MacBook notch into a compact workspace for media controls, Apple Notes, calendar events, and everyday tools. Users can choose a minimal view for one task or expand the island to show more information. A temporary file shelf and local clipboard history help move material between applications.

The app requires macOS 14 or later, with on-device translation available on macOS 15 and above. Calendar and Notes access are requested when those features are enabled. An optional assistant connects through the user's own Gemini API key. The current independently distributed build is not yet Apple-signed or notarized, and access begins with a short trial.
