Meet GitHub Copilot

GitHub Copilot provides AI assistance for software development in an editor, on GitHub, and through a command-line interface. Developers can ask questions about code, request edits, use completion suggestions, or assign work to coding agents. Its code review features also help examine proposed changes before they are accepted.

Copilot can draw on project context and connect to additional tools through MCP. Supported models and agents give developers different ways to approach a task, including work across multiple files. The resulting changes remain part of the usual development workflow, where a developer can inspect the diff, run checks, and decide what belongs in the project.
