Cloud object storage for applications, backups, and data lakes
Managed object storage for application files, backups, and analytics

Google Cloud Storage is a managed object storage service for application files, media, backups, archives, and analytics datasets. Teams create buckets within Google Cloud projects, upload objects, and access them through the web console, command-line tools, client libraries, or APIs. Identity and Access Management controls permissions, while integrations with BigQuery and other Google Cloud services let teams use stored data in analysis and machine learning workflows.
Storage classes accommodate different access patterns, and lifecycle rules or Autoclass can move objects as requirements change. Versioning, soft delete, and retention controls help protect data against unwanted changes or deletion. Users can choose bucket locations and configurations to suit their workload, with costs depending on storage, operations, retrievals, network usage, and optional features.
