Record conversations and prepare notes with local processing
Transcribe meetings, dictation, and recordings on your computer

talat is a desktop transcription app for meetings, voice input, and existing recordings. It processes speech on the user's computer, captures microphone and system audio, and identifies speakers. Calendar connections and call detection help start meeting recordings, while a global shortcut makes dictation available in other applications.
Users can import audio or video, search their transcription history, and generate summaries, action items, and chapters. A built-in language model handles notes locally by default, with optional cloud models available through the user's own provider credentials. Export options include Markdown, PDF, Obsidian, webhooks, and MCP-aware assistants. talat is useful for people who want meeting records and spoken notes stored locally on Mac or Windows.
