Care for a virtual pet on your desktop, in the terminal, or through AI

tama96 is a virtual pet that lives on the desktop or in a terminal. Its lifecycle runs in real time: hunger, happiness, cleanliness, and health change as time passes, and care decisions influence which character it becomes. The desktop app uses a pixel LCD interface with clickable controls, a system tray, background updates, and notifications.
The terminal version renders pixel sprites with Braille characters and can run independently or connect to the desktop app. A bundled MCP server also lets AI tools feed, play with, and care for the pet, with permissions and rate limits controlling individual actions. Eleven possible characters give each pet a different outcome.
