Manage tasks through plain sentences on a page that clears as work gets done.
Manage Mac tasks with keyboard shortcuts and plain-text files

tasks.txt is a free Mac task manager built around a human-readable text file. Keyboard shortcuts handle adding, editing, moving, searching, and completing tasks, while project labels provide lightweight filtering. Tasks are grouped into upcoming work, backlog, and completed items without requiring an account or proprietary database.
The app stores its files locally in a format inspired by todo.txt, including readable dates, labels, and inline notes. Completed items move to an archive as the next day begins, preserving history without crowding the active list. A separate plain-text scratchpad holds notes and unfinished ideas. Users manage backup or synchronization through their own file tools. The native Swift app requires macOS 13 or later.
