Meet trnscrb

trnscrb is a Mac menu bar utility for recording and transcribing meetings with a local Whisper model. It detects activity from supported meeting applications and can capture a microphone alone or combine it with system audio through the BlackHole driver. Transcripts are saved as plain text files for later use.

An MCP integration lets Claude Desktop start or stop recording, list saved meetings, and retrieve transcripts. Apple silicon provides accelerated transcription, while Intel Macs can run more slowly. Recording and transcription work offline after setup; the optional enrichment command sends transcript text to the Claude API to generate summaries and action items.
