Manage JavaScript dependencies and workspaces from the terminal

Yarn is an open source package manager for JavaScript projects, with tools for installing dependencies, running scripts, and managing multiple packages in one repository. Developers use it from the terminal to add libraries, update versions, and reproduce a project's dependency setup. A lockfile records resolved dependencies, while a shared package cache avoids downloading the same packages for every project.
Workspaces let teams divide an application into related packages that Yarn installs and links together. Commands can run across selected workspaces, and constraints help keep dependency versions and package settings consistent. Yarn supports Plug'n'Play as well as familiar node_modules installations, so projects can choose the layout that suits their tooling. Plugins provide another way to extend commands and adapt the package manager to a team's workflow.
