Meet Zed

Zed is an open-source code editor with collaboration and optional AI tools built into the workspace. Find files or symbols, search a project, open the command palette, and use an integrated terminal alongside the code. Split panes and configurable layouts let you arrange the work around the task.

The Agent Panel supports conversations about a project, while inline assistance operates close to the text you are editing. Built-in language support can be extended, and settings cover themes, formatting, fonts, and keybindings, including Vim and Helix modes. Collaboration and remote-development features provide ways to work with other people or environments from the editor.
