Meet CleanYourTV

CleanYourTV is an open-source toolkit for removing advertising clutter and unwanted software from Android TV and Google TV devices. It connects over Wi-Fi, disables selected advertising and telemetry packages, and replaces the stock home screen with a lightweight launcher. Favorite apps sit in a configurable dock, with an app grid, themes, and quick access to inputs and settings.

Users can follow the project's guided prompt with a coding assistant on a computer, or use the community-maintained Android phone app linked from the website. The workflow backs up settings and package lists before changes, disables apps instead of uninstalling them, and provides a way to restore the previous setup. It does not require rooting the TV. Compatibility and the appropriate cleanup steps depend on the device.
