Pocket Screen

Keep live reference windows visible while working on a Mac

Website

Meet Pocket Screen

Pocket Screen is a macOS menu bar utility that creates floating reference views from supported application windows. The original window stays in place while a separate, resizable view remains visible above other work. Users can keep a document, dashboard, chat, or video in sight without repeatedly switching applications.

Each reference view has controls for opacity, quality, click-through behavior, and a focused region. Keyboard shortcuts create views, switch their source, arrange them, or temporarily hide the group. The app requires macOS 14 or later and Screen Recording permission, with captured pixels processed locally. The free version supports two views in limited-length sessions, while Unlimited adds more views, longer sessions, and an additional quality mode.
