Keep rarely used Mac menu-bar icons within easy reach
Give each Mac desktop a name and switch from the menu bar

SpaceNamer gives Mac users a way to tell their virtual desktops apart. Name a space after a project, a client or a subject and its label appears in the menu bar. When it is time to switch contexts, choose the named desktop directly. This is especially useful when several spaces contain similar browser windows and their thumbnails offer few clues about which one you need. The utility works alongside the desktops already in macOS and does not require Accessibility permission to display their names.
